Education:
Janet has been in the financial services business since 1985, just recently recommitting herself to the field in November 2014, when she earned her Certified Financial Planner designation.
Janet graduated from Colorado State University with a Bachelor’s in Business Economics. She holds all licenses and registrations required to advise clients on all personal financial matters. Among her licenses are FINRA registrations 7, 24, 63 and 65, as well as those covering life, disability and long-term care insurance.
Experience:
Although she has worked in financial services since 1985, she joined FSC in 1996 so she could help provide unbiased, independent advice – a decision that has given her the opportunity to build trust and long-term relationships with clients. Because she is independent, she can be an objective advocate for her clients, thereby helping to provide results that are in her client's interest.
In addition to managing investments, Janet has offered insurance since 1991 and has prepared taxes for clients since the early 2000s. Her CFP ® designation brings together the six disciplines she already had been practicing: insurance, investments, retirement planning, taxes, estate planning and the financial planning process.
Janet has been involved with the financial services industry for over 35 years, and is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and mentoring the next generation of financial services professionals.
Community:
Janet and her husband Jim have lived and worked in the Elizabeth/Parker, Colorado community for over 20 years. Although her children are grown, Janet is still active in the local high school sports community where her husband teaches and coaches. When not working, Janet can be found on the tennis courts playing league matches in Parker, Colorado.
Personal:
Janet and her husband Jim have been married over 32 years, and her husband has been teaching and coaching in the Elizabeth community for over 20 years. The teaching/coaching mentality has rubbed off – Janet is constantly educating, inspiring and cheering her clients towards their goals, whether it is an early retirement or getting kids through college. Janet and Jim have navigated getting three children through college and most recently, seeing all three of them married within a years’ time. Talk about planning! Now Janet is planning and hoping for grandchildren!
